Sending a parcel no longer has to start with a printer, run out of ink at the worst possible moment, or end up with a dangerously badly stuck label. With InPost, you can prepare your shipment online and use a QR code on your phone to drop off the parcel at one of our Lockers or collection points.
In this guide, we’ll show you how label-free shipping works, what you need to have with you before leaving home, how to position the parcel correctly, and what to do if the QR code isn’t read on the first try. Sending a parcel is now as easy as preparing the package, showing your phone, and getting on with your day.
To send a parcel without a printed label through InPost, create the shipment via our website or app, choose the QR code option if available, prepare the parcel carefully, and head to the Locker or collection point you selected. There, you only need to scan or show the QR code to register the shipment.
You’ll receive a confirmation and can track the shipment using our tracking tool. Easy, affordable, and a real advantage for anyone who doesn’t have a printer at home.
- The parcel prepared and properly sealed.
- The QR code received after creating the shipment.
- A phone with enough battery to display the QR code when needed.
- The address or recipient details, confirmed and error-free.
- An InPost Locker or Parcel Point nearby where you can drop off the parcel.
- Check that the parcel meets the allowed size and weight limits.
- Create the shipment on the InPost website or app. Enter the sender, recipient, and parcel information carefully.
- Choose the QR code shipping option, if available. After completing payment, you’ll be able to download or receive the QR code on your phone.
- Prepare the parcel. Use a sturdy box or wrapper, protect the contents well, and seal all edges with adhesive tape.
- Find the Locker or Parcel Point most convenient for you. You can choose one near home, work, or along your usual route.
- Go to the chosen location with the parcel and the QR code on your phone.
- Present the QR code on the Locker reader or show it at the Parcel Point. The system will identify the parcel, after which you can deposit it or hand it over at the counter.
- Keep the confirmation. You’ll need it to check that the shipment has started its journey and to track it.
The process overall is very similar, but some specific details differ depending on the type of location chosen.
Read the QR code on the Locker screen and a compartment will open, where you should place the parcel. This is a very convenient option if you need to send the parcel outside business hours or prefer to do it independently, without needing assistance.
Show the QR code to the staff member at the store counter, who will scan it and register the parcel. This is a good option if you prefer in-person service or if the location is more convenient.
- That the contents are protected and do not move inside the box.
- That the packaging is properly sealed.
- That there are no visible old labels, if you are reusing a box.
- That the QR code is clearly visible on your phone screen.
- That the brightness level on your phone screen is sufficient to make the code easier to read.
- That the parcel does not exceed the size and weight limits of the chosen location.
If you are next to a Locker and the reader does not recognize the QR code, first try increasing the screen brightness, clean the camera or reader if possible, and make sure the code is being shown in full, without cropping. You can also try closing and reopening the email or app with the QR code. If you are at a Parcel Point, ask the staff member to try scanning it again. If the problem persists, check that you are using the correct QR code for that shipment and not an old or incomplete image.
- Create the shipment, but do not select the QR Code option.
- Arriving at the collection point with a dead phone.
- A parcel that exceeds the allowed dimensions.
- Using a box with visible old codes or labels.
- Not keeping the delivery confirmation.
- Waiting until the last minute, if the shipment has a deadline.
Contact us if the QR code is not generated correctly, if the selected collection point cannot accept the parcel, if the shipment is not registered after you hand it in, or if you find an error in the shipment details that you cannot change through the website or app.
Sending shipments using only a QR code is one of those small things that make everyday life easier. Pack your parcel, grab your phone, and take the parcel to the most convenient location. No need to look for a printer, cut out labels, or worry about adhesive tape.
With InPost, you can send shipments digitally, track your parcel at every stage of the process, and choose between Lockers and Parcel Points according to your convenience. Your parcel sets off on its journey, and your day continues peacefully.
