Do you need to create an account with InPost? Or do you already have one and want to change some details, review a payment or download an invoice? In this guide, we will explain what to do, step by step, for each case, including: account creation, changes to email address and account details, payments and top-ups, shipping costs, invoices (view or download) and account closure.
What to do in each case
- Create an account with InPost: go to “Create an account”, choose Individual or Business and complete the information.
- Change your address: go to My Profile > My Billing Addresses and edit the field using the pencil icon.
- Recover your password: on the home screen, click on “Forgot password”; then check your email, including the spam folder.
- Payments and top-ups: if you use a prepaid account, you can make a top-up using a card (Visa/Mastercard) or PayPal; if a payment fails, check whether the payment method is active and whether your bank has blocked the transaction.
- Check prices: check the current prices and have the weight and dimensions of your parcel to hand to calculate the amount accurately.
- View or download invoices: Go to My Profile > My Purchases and view your invoices.
- Close your account: start the process of closing your account from My Profile > My Billing Settings, or, in the app, under Account > Settings.
1) Create your InPost account
Creating an InPost account allows you to manage your shipments and access your data and invoices, all in one place.
Step by step:
- Go to Create an account and choose between Personal or Business.
- Enter your email address.
- Create a password that meets the following requirements: 8 characters, 1 digit, 1 special character, 1 uppercase letter and 1 lowercase letter.
- Enter your phone number and accept the terms and conditions.
2) Update your account
Keeping your account up to date prevents missed notifications, invoices with outdated information or problems recovering access.
Quick checklist
- Confirm that the email address is the one you use every day: this is how you will receive confirmations and notifications.
- Review your personal information: name and phone number.
- Confirm that you can log in without any problems.
- If you use the account for billing, review the information before making payments.
Most frequent changes:
- Change email or password: in My Profile > My Billing Settings.
- Change address: in My Profile > My Billing Addresses (clicking the pencil icon).
3) Recover your password
If you have forgotten your password or cannot log in, follow these steps so you can log back into your account.
Step by step:
- On the login screen, click “Forgot password”.
- Enter the email address you used to register.
- Check your email inbox and follow the link that was sent to create a new password.
If you do not receive the recovery email:
- Check your spam or promotions folder.
- Check whether the email address is entered correctly (without spaces or typos).
- Wait a few minutes and try again.
- If you have several email addresses, try using the one you usually use for online shopping.
4) Problems with payment methods and top-ups
When a payment or top-up is not completed successfully, it is usually due to one of these reasons: an expired or invalid payment method, incorrectly entered information or a bank block.
Quick checklist:
- Check whether your payment method is valid; for example, whether your card has not expired.
- Make sure all your information is up to date.
- If the payment keeps failing, find out whether your bank has flagged the transaction as suspicious.
- If you are using a prepaid account, check your balance before the payment or top-up.
Top-ups:
It is possible to make a top-up using Visa/MasterCard or PayPal.
Most common problems:
- Payment declined: Try another method and check your bank's limits or permissions regarding online purchases.
- Error during confirmation: Repeat the process from the beginning and avoid too many repeated attempts.
- Questions about top-ups: Check your profile (prepaid account/balance) to confirm that the amount has been applied.
5) Rates
To check prices, it is important to check a few details in advance. For shipping, the most important factors are usually the shipping method and the weight.
Variables that affect the price:
- Destination country.
- Parcel weight.
- Delivery method: to a home address, or to a Pickup Point or Locker.
- Approximate parcel dimensions.
- Additional insurance or not.
6) View or download invoices
Through your InPost account, you can access your invoices in just a few steps.
Step by step:
- Access your account.
- Go to My Profile > My Purchases.
- Find the period or payment.
- Download the invoice to save a copy.
Common errors:
- Looking for the invoice in a different account from the one through which you made the payment.
- Filtering dates incorrectly, giving the impression that the invoice does not exist.
- Confusing a payment receipt with an invoice.
7) Close the account
Closing your account is a simple process, but it is important to approach it with a few precautions: make sure you do not have any pending transactions and save your invoices before requesting closure, as you will not be able to access them after the account is closed.
Checklist:
- Make sure you do not have any pending transactions.
- Download all invoices you may need.
- Make sure you have access to the associated email address.
How to close your account:
- On the website: Log in and go to My Profile > My Billing Settings > Delete my account.
- In the app: Account > Settings > Delete my customer account.
When should you contact customer support?
Contact our support team if any of the following situations occur:
- You cannot regain access because the recovery email did not arrive after several checks (spam inbox, correct email address, new attempts).
- The payment was processed, but it does not appear in your transaction history after a reasonable period of time.
- You need an invoice and it does not appear, appears incomplete or you cannot download it.
- You tried to close your account, but the option does not appear or the process fails.
